Admission Requirements at Metro College Toronto

The following admission requirements are applicable to all programs offered at Metro College of Technology:

1. Grade 12 Diploma (OSSD) or General Educational Development (GED) certificate;
2. Basic Proficiency in English. The student is required to take an English test if English is his/her second language;
3. One must be 18 years of age or older.

The applicant must provide photocopied proof of the highest academic level (certificate, diploma, or degree as well as their academic transcript). All academic documents must be certified English translations if the original ones are not in English. The applicants who meet the college's requirements will be considered for acceptance based on their merits. All programs are taught in English at Metro College of Technology and a minimum level of English proficiency is ESL Level 5. A student is required to present English proficiency proof or take an English test. If he/she fails the English test, the applicant must take the English course before she/he can begin professional training.

1. Computerized Accounting & Office Administration Course
   • Basic computer skills

2. Canadian Payroll Specialist Course
   • Basic computer skills
   • Basic mathematic knowledge
3. Paralegal Diploma
   • Basic computer skills;
   • Solid command of English language;
   • Good communication and interpersonal skills
   • Passing entrance test
4. Personal Support Worker (PSW) Course
   • Empathy towards others
   • Pass the police check
   • Pass the medical exam
   • Pass the entrance tes
5. Software Training for Mechanical Engineers, Designers & Technologists Course
   • Basic computer skills;
   • Working experience in mechanical or industrial;
   • Ability to read design, drawings or graphs
6. Software Training for Civil Engineers, Designers & Technologists Course
   • Basic computer skills
   • Civil or architectural education / working experience
   • Ability to read drawings and graphs
7. Software Training for Data Analysts and Computer Programmers Cours
   
   • Education in computer science, mathematics, healthcare, science research, finance or statistics;
   • Working experience in research, banking, insurance, financial services and accounting;
   • Computer programming skills;
8. Medical Office Assistant
   • Basic computer skills
   • Passing physical exam, including HIV testing
   • Police check
9. Software Training for CNC Programmers, Machinists and Mechanical Engineers Course
   • Engineering / science / computer
   • Basic computer skills
   • Knowledge in mathematics and algebr

Application Procedures

1. An application  form must be completed;
2. The application form is forwarded to the Admissions Office with proof of English proficiency and the  highest educational standing achieved;
3. The Admission Office will review the application form and the academic materials;
4. The Admission Office will inform the student of the status of his/her application;
5. If admitted, the applicant must sign an agreement for the program she/he applies for and provide a copy of photo ID.

Students can make arrangements on how to pay their tuition with an admissions officer at the college.  Some students may qualify for financial assistance from the governments or a low-interest loan from banks. For more details, please contact the college at 416 585 9880.

Fee

1. CND $100.00 registration fee.
